Rules for mininum age and time limits

Our rules regarding minimum age for each competition are based on the rules of the Icelandic Track and Field Association, as well as our own experience. They are as follows:

Skálavíkurhlaup 13 km:                 12 years (born 2009)

Skálavíkurhlaup 20 km:                 16 years (born 2005)

Sea swimming:                                 16 years (born 2005)

Arnarneshlaup 10 km:                 12 years (born 2009)

Arnarneshlaup 21,1 km:              15 years (born 2006)

Vesturgatan bike:                           16 years (born 2005)

Fun bike:                                            No age limit, young children should be accompanied by an adult

Fun run:                                              No age limit, young children should be accompanied by an adult

Vesturgatan run, 45 km:              18 years (born 2003)

Vesturgatan run, 24 km:              15 years (born 2006)

Vesturgatan run, 10 km:              12 years (born 2009)

Time limits:

Only one of the competitions this weekend has a time limit, the 20 km distance in Skálavíkurhlaup. In order to be allowed to complete the 20 km, you need to reach the junction at the top of Skálavíkurheiði (approximately 6 km) within one hour after start.  Those who fail to meet that limit will be allowed to change over to the shorter distance, 13 km.
