Online registration has started at www.hlaupahatid.is and will be open until 12:00  wednesday, July 15

Because of COVID it is not possible to register after that

Arnarnes half-marathon:
The start of this race is by the sports hall in the village Súðavík. A bus from Ísafjörður to Súðavík is included in the registration fee. The course takes you through the village and then you simply follow highway #61 along the coast, under the majestic mountains and through the oldest and shortest road tunnel in Iceland (33 meters). You will run past nesting sites for arctic terns, eider ducks and other birds, and you might even see a seal or two if you are lucky. The finish is in downtown Ísafjörður.

This course is relatively flat, although there are small hills here and there, the most noticeable one being a gentle climb with an elevation of some 50 m,  just around half-way through the race. Most of the time, though, you will be close to the coastline.

Note that the run is on the main highway leading to Ísafjörður. As it is an evening run, the car traffic is usually not overwhelming and drivers are warned that there is a competition going on. However, all runners must obey general traffic rules and conduct themselves in a manner that does not create hazards for themselves, other athletes, staff, spectators or drivers.

Your bags with warm-up clothes etc will be transported from Súðavík to the finish area in Ísafjörður. Note that it is your responsibility to put your bag in the transportation vehicle or hand it to our staff at the start line. Toilette facilities will be open for all competitors at the Súðavík sports hall before the race.

Feeding stations:

At roughly 5 km, 9 km, 15 km and 18 km (Enervit drink and water)

The bus will leave from Isafjordur at 19:00

Arnarnes, 10 km run:
The 10 km run simply follows the last 10 km of the half-marathon course.  A bus to the start is included in your registration fee. The start of this race is basically in the middle of nowhere, so there are no toilette facilities, except the ones provided by nature, such as rocks to hide behind. The good thing, though, is that the start is at the peak of the only significant climb on the half-marathon course. Hence, you not only avoid that climb, but shortly after the start you come to a nice descend down to sea level, where you more or less stay for the rest of the race.

Note that the run is on the main highway, leading to Ísafjörður. As it is an evening run, the car traffic is usually not overwhelming and drivers are warned that there is a competition going on. However, all runners must obey general traffic rules and conduct themselves in a manner that does not create hazards for themselves, other athletes, staff, spectators or drivers.

Your bags with warm-up clothes etc will be transported to the finish area in Ísafjörður. Note that it is your responsibility to put your bag in the transportation vehicle or hand it to our staff at the start line.

In the 21,1 km race you must be 15 years or older (born 2005 and before) and in the 10 km race you have to be 12 years or older (born 2008 and before)

Feeding stations:

At roughly 4 km and 7 km (Isotonic drinks and water)

The bus will leave from Isafjordur at 20:30

The price ceremony will be at Silfurtorg  (town centre) at 22:15

The Swimmingpool at Austurvegur is open until 23:30.
